Hual

For this week's blog, I thought I'd try something a little different. I recently went shopping and bought a few things that I thought I'd share with you! I hope you like this, if so I'll maybe do more of these.
First, I went to Plato's Closet and bought a couple things. The first of which is this embroidered shirt. It's a white flowy shirt with pink embroidering around the neckline and a couple rows down the front. I paired the shirt with a simple pair of capri's and some multi-colored sandals.

The other item I bought from Plato's Closet was this floral knee length skirt. I paired it with this shirt I bought on the same trip, but it's from Forever 21. It's a really soft form-fitting black tank top with lace around the top. I then added an Aeropostale necklace and black target sandals.
I found this amazing dress on sale at TJ Maxx for only $10 and could not pass it up. It's a flowy floral babydoll dress that lays so perfectly. It is sheer however, so I put a slip under it. I completed this look with my white studded sandals from Delia's.
I got one other outfit from Forever 21. I purchases this super cute sleep set. The top has a heart made out of the words "Love is all you need." I thought that was super cute. It came with these blue heart printed shorts. I accidentally bought a medium rather than a small, but it just makes it comfier. Under the shirt I have a lace bralette that I bought at Aeropostale.
Pacsun was having this crazy deal on their clearance; buy 2 get 3 free, not get the third free but get 3 items for free. So of course I had trouble finding things, isn't that always the way? But after some time and a couple trips to the fitting room, I found the necessary five items. The first of which is this tank top. It is a really pretty coral with blue font. The shirt says "Beach Lover Gypsy Soul" and is a Billabong shirt. I added a light wash chambray shirt and darker jeans. I finished the look with my simple canvas sneakers from Target.

I also purchased this floral purple shirt. It's just a pretty basic tank top, but flows nicely. I wore it over a pair of dark wash shorts and added a pair of simple flip flops. This is just a super casual outfit, but still really cute.
This shirt is a bit of a cropped top. It buttons down the front and flows out. The front and back come down in sort of triangles, so that the sides are shorter. I'm wearing a white lace bralette again from Aeropostale. I paired this navy blue shirt with a pair of bright peach shorts and added some matching sandals.
For this final outfit, quite possibly my favorite, I paired this floral maxi skirt with this peach peplum shirt, both from Pacsun. The contrast in colors is so pretty. Also the skirt is long enough to make it slightly high waisted, so that the shirt is less of a crop top. Under it I again have the white bralette. I finished it with a pair of simple sandals.

I hope you enjoyed the haul, I have lots of fun plans for the future, so make sure you follow the blog. I'll see you next Thursday!

Summer Outfits: Boho

For my last blog in the summer outfit's series, I chose Bohemian inspired fashion. I'd say this is the style I wear 80% of the time. I love how flowy and casual it can be, but it is also easy to dress it up. For my choices, I have dresses and skirts, but of course this can be adapted into pants and shorts if you're not the dress type. Personally I love to wear dresses and try to make them wearable year long.
This first outfit, however, incorporates pants. I wore this two ways, one for hot days and one for chillier days. I wear this one well into winter. The main piece is this really cute and simple babydoll dress from Wet Seal. It's just a taupe color. The back isn't shown, but its very open. For the first version, I wore the dress as more of a shirt, with these printed ruffle shorts under it. The shorts are floral print and so comfy. The are similar to vodi shorts from Brandy Melville. Unfortunately there is not a Brandy Melville in Pennsylvania. So instead, I bought these shorts from Bethany Mota's line at Aeropostale. I then just paired it with my well-loved American Eagle flip flops and a long Aeropostale necklace.
For the warmer version I added a pair of black tights and this really pretty lace cardigan. To complete that look, I kept the same necklace and upgraded to these brown wedged booties (Kmart). They are so comfortable, and I don't do heals. However, these ones I've worn to school and been perfectly fine. They're also nice because they don't add too much height which I like because I'm already 5'6'' (maybe not that tall, but my best friends are about 5'). Anyway, this is a great way to get more wear out of the dress.

This next dress is my favorite dress I've ever bought. I fell in love with it at Forever 21 and could not pass it up! It's just this really cute floral slip dress, but it has really cute lace accents and a lace cutout above the waist. I just kept it very simple with my American Eagle flip flops. When it gets a little colder, I continue to wear it but just add this burgundy cardigan from Charlotte Rouse. The color matches the floral print perfectly, and I didn't buy them to go together. By the way, if you're interested, the dress also comes in black.
Tribal print is one of my favorite prints, so I wore this gray tank top (American Eagle) with a multicolored tribal print. I added this coral/burnt orange pleated skirt that I found at Plato's Closet. The color of the skirt matches one of the colors in the shirt. Once again, I added my flip flops to finish it off.
This look is so simple, but so cute. I just wore this floral dress from American Eagle with my white studded sandals from Delia's. This dress has little daisies all over it (my favorite flower). It also has a slit down the middle of the front, and buttons down the front. The back has a really cute lace up section. (The criss-cross is from my bralette that I got from Forever 21).
This might be one of my all time favorite outfits. I think it's so cute. The sheer ombre skirt is from Rue 21. I wear it high-waisted and then add this blue daisy printed crop top (Wet Seal). I love the combination of colors and textures. You can't see, but I'm wearing the same white sandals from the last outfit.

I hope you enjoyed this little series! Let me know what else you want to see! I'll see you next Thursday. In the meantime, make sure you're following me on Instagram and Tumblr!

Summer Outfits: Girly

My style in clothing changes almost daily depending on my mood. So for this week's blog I thought I would show you a few of the outfits I might wear if I were feeling a little girly. I'm not really a pink person so my "girly" outfits might not be as girly as you might wear them.
That being said, I do wear a little pink. I like this outfit because it can be dressed up or down. I paired a simple pink tank top (Target) with this patterned skirt from American Eagle. Because the shirt was so plain, I added a long necklace. I also dressed the look up by adding these bow wedges (Rue 21).
This is by far my favorite of the outfits. For this one I went for "preppy girly". I paired this incredible shirt (TJ Maxx) with just a basic pair of high waisted dark wash shorts (Forever 21). This shirt has a scalloped bottom, lace, and a Peter Pan collar, basically all of the trend wrapped into one. The shirt is cream colored, so I added my cream colored Converse to finish off the outfit.
If you want a bit of brightness in your outfit than this is for you. I paired a pair of neon coral shorts (Walmart) with a simple black slight peplum shirt (American Eagle). I finished it with simple black sandals (Target). Especially in the summer, I like to keep my outfits very simple.

For the final outfit, I chose one of my favorite dresses. This blue dress is covered with little daisies. I also love the back (although it was tricky to try it on for the first time). It's from Brandy Melville, so it is super soft and comfy. I wear this dress year round because I love it so much. I just have on a simple pair of studded white sandals (Delia's).

I hope you enjoyed these outfits. Comment and let me know what you thought and which one was your favorite. Also let me know what you would like to see in the future! I'll see you next Thursday, but in the meantime, make sure you're following me on Instagram! (brittsco13).

Trend Alert!!

Crop tops have been popular for a little while now, and I'm starting to really get into them! I think they're so cute and can be worn in so many different ways! So this week I'm going to show you a few ways I would wear crop tops!
Outfit 1

This is probably my favorite outfit. Its super cute and summery. Both the top and shorts are from Aeropostale. The coral top has this eyelet detailing on it. It's not super cropped so you can feel comfortable in it.
I've been looking for shorts like this for so long. I loved the vodi shorts from Brandy Melville, but there's not one anywhere close to where i live and by the time you add on shipping, it gets expensive. These ones are from the Bethany Mota line. If you can't find these specific ones, they are pretty much everywhere! I finished the outfit with my cream colored Converse.

Outfit 2

For this outfit, I wanted to be a little more dressy. I actually wore this to church on Sunday. I paired this super cute patterned denim skirt (Target) with a white version of the eyelet crop top. For the chillier days, a light shirt is nice to have. This is like a denim button up, but army green. Its very comfy and i got it on super sale from American Eagle. I finished it off with these white studded sandals from Delia's.
Outfit 3
The skirt has this really cute tribal print and has buttons down the front. It also has pockets, which scores instant style points in my book. My sister actually got this for me for sister's day. She didn't know, but I had been watching for it to go on sale! When I wore this for church, I added a yellow statement necklace. My favorite color combination is blue and yellow.

Again, I wanted to be dressy, so for this outfit, I paired a high waisted skirt with this crop top. The skirt is this vibrant coral, and is a great length. This crop top is from the Bethany Mota line at Aeropostale. Once again, I threw on an optional thin sweater, this one from TJ Maxx. And finished the look off with these adorable bow wedges.

Outfit 4
This crop top is super cute. It's black with little white flowers all over it. It's super trendy with buttons down the front and these cute cutouts on the back. The skirt (PacSun) also has this really cute paneling effect as well as a gold zipper down the back.

Summer Outfits: Edgy

Now that it's summer, I have more time to focus on this blog, and I'm going to try to upload every Thursday. Since it is summer, I thought I would do a mini series of different outfits to wear in the summer. So each week will be a different trend or style. This week I'm going to show you four different "edgy" looks that I would and do wear.
Outfit 1
First is this classic skater style. I'm wearing super dark wash high rise shorts (Forever 21). I love these shorts! They are so comfy and they were fairly inexpensive. I then added this Mtv crop top I bought from American Eagle. I tied an oversized flannel around my waist to top off the look. This is cute and also can be useful if it gets chilly. Like where I live, it's sometimes nice to have a sweater for the evenings when we sit around a fire or just hang out outside. my shoes are a pair of knockoff converse I've had for a couple years from Rue 21. They are so comfortable and a much cheaper alternative to real Converse.
Outfit 2
For a more girly look, i paired this black skater skirt (JCPenny's) with one of my favorite graphic tank tops. I got it from TJ Maxx and I've definitely worn my money's worth. It's a long shirt, so you can either tuck it in, or what I like to do is to tie it on the side.
The shirt is the sun and the moon making a sort of ying yang symbol. I finished it off again with my knock off converse. Like I said, I love those things.
Outfit 3

For this outfit, I again chose a graphic tank top. This one is also from TJ Maxx and is the same brand (Workshop). This one, however makes an infinity sign out of flowers and vines, and says "Live Life Wild and Free." It is black but looks almost like denim. You know what I mean? Like it has this faded worn look on it. Anyway, it's a cropped top but with a hi-low effect. I wore it with these gray shorts (Aeropostle), and paired the outfit with my black sandals.
Outfit 4
This final look is a little out of my comfort zone. I bought this dress last year at Rue 21 for $2, but you can find similar ones all over the place. its just a simple tank top dress, but with a little flare. it has this cute tribal print on the front and fringe at the bottom. I again just wore those basic sandals (Target). By the way, I got that jump shot in one take :)

Let me know which outfit was your favorite and if you have any ideas for future blogs. Make sure you're following me on instagram to see more of my outfits (Brittsco13). Hopefully I'll see you next Thursday!
