Fall Lookbook

I don't know about you, but fall is my absolute favorite season for so many reasons! One of which is the fashion. I figured that since it's my favorite, I'd show you a few of my favorite outfits for fall!
First, we'll start off with a basic outfit. Jeans are a must for fall (I did a whole blog on styling jeans) and they can be worn in so many ways. These skinnys are from PacSun, which is a great store to buy jeans if, like me, you have long legs and a small waist. Another thing I love for fall is this deep purple/maroon. It's hard to see, but this shirt is actually striped. I love the way it fits; it's slightly big, but tight in the right places. I accessorized with another staple: my black combat boots from JCPennys. I love this boots so much! They are so comfortable and I wore them almost every day last year. I also added a choker that I made.
This outfit is another one of my staples. I wear this combination of jeans, tank top, and chambray shirt all of the time. For this particular look, I'm wearing this amazingly soft tank top from PacSun. It has this really neat tribal pattern on it and I fell in love. I added this green chambray-like shirt from American Eagle. I wore this with my boyfriend jeans from American Eagle. I love these because they are so comfy and relaxed. I cuffed those and added these awesome shoes. They're white canvas shoes from Target that I painted to look like oxfords. (I might be obsessed with them and wear them half of the time!) I'm wearing the same choker as before to finish the look.
For a colder day, layer it up!! I put on this gray tank top with lace trim that I got from Forever 21. over that, I added this awesome sweater I found at H&M. I love this for so many reasons. First off, it is so comfortable! Also it has a wide neck so it would also look great with a collared shirt sticking out. Plus it was only $12.90, which is great for a sweater! I wore this with dark wash skinnies from Old Navy and my diy shoes.
Just because it's getting colder doesn't mean you have to put your dresses away! I took this maroon skirt that I got at Rue 21 (seriously love this color!) and added this gray shirt from Forever 21 tied at the side. I then added some black tights and gray boots. The tights will keep you warm, and they add cuteness. The shirt is oversized, especially in the neck, so I wore a black lace bralette from Aeropostale under it and added the same choker.
Another way to warm up a dress is with knee socks and a sweater. Once again I went with maroon. This floral dress is from Aeropostale. I added this long sweater from Charlotte Rouse and these knee socks from Kohl's. I finished it with my choker and my black combat boots. This one is great because you still show skin, but stay warm.
Obviously, maroon isn't the only color great for fall. I love wearing mustard colored clothes in the fall as well. This is a great lazy day outfit, because it's comfortable, but looks like you tried. I started with a pair of leggings from American Eagle. I like these ones because they're really thick, so it's almost like you're wearing pants. I added this teal (my favorite color) tank top from Rue 21. I love this because it is long enough to cover my butt. Over that I added this sweater that I believe is from JCPenny's (it was a birthday gift). I finished it with my choker and these awesome fringe boots from Kohl's. I love these boots so much!

Jeans!

I feel like Jeans are overlooked. I don't think many people have done a tutorial on how to style jeans. This is probably because they are really easy to style, and can be worn with just about anything. However, I feel that each type of jeans should be styled a little differently, so I decided I'd show you how I style my various types of jeans.
I'll start with my dark wash skinnys. I got these from Old Navy for only $19!! I feel that skinny jeans and dark wash can be dressed up easily. Dark wash makes them almost look black, so they are super easy to make look fancy and professional. I paired them with this hi-low gray shirt from Forever 21. I love how it has lace around the bottom, it almost looks like you have two shirts on. I cuffed up my jeans for a capri look and added my Target sandals.
This is one of my go to looks when I want to look a little nicer without taking too much effort. I am wearing these lighter wash skinny jeans from PacSun. If you have long legs but a small waist, I recommend trying PacSun jeans. (Especially when they're on sale!) So for this look, I just tucked in this amazing sheer long sleeved shirt. I've had this for so long I don't remember where I got it, but a lot of stores have similar shirts (try Aeropostale in the Bethany Mota collection). The shirt has black polka dots, but they aren't perfect circles, they almost look like ink spots everywhere. The buttons are neat because they are gold. I added a belt, and to keep it simple, my Converse look-a-likes from Rue 21. If you want a more professional look, you could wear a pair of flats instead.
For me, flared legged jeans make me think of casual looks. They are my favorite to wear hoodies with, because the pants dress me up enough I don't feel like I look completely lazy. These dark wash jeans are from American Eagle, another of my favorites for jeans. I added this super soft Brandy Melvile-like hoodie from Aeropostale. I love the color and it is so comfy. I finished the look with my off-white Converse.
These PacSun jeans are a little wider in the legs. Once again, I went for a simple, casual look. I'm wearing this Beatles baseball tee. I also added this green button up over it that I bought at American Eagle. I finished the look with my black Rue 21 "Converse". The jeans also make the look a little bit more edgy and concert looking.
Now for my new favorite jeans! The boyfriend jean. For my school, I can't wear rips, but I really wanted to try a pair of boyfriend jeans, so I found these on sale at American Eagle. The lines for the fitting room and check out were so long I decided not to try it on. Luckily I loved them when I got home! These jeans can make your legs look shorter and wider, so they look best on long legs. Lucky for me, I'm 5'6". I cuffed them at the bottom. Boyfriend jeans are also super casual, so I just added this oversized teeshirt from Forever 21. I tied it at the side for a more fitted look. I finished the look with my gray canvas sneakers from Target. I love these things, I'd wear them everyday if I could. These jeans, too are super comfortable.

For me, each type of jeans I wear change my style and mood for the day. Let me know which type of jeans are your favorite to wear! Don't forget to follow my Instagram for more looks, and my Tumblr for an inside look to my favorite things.

Trend Alert!!

I've been seeing teeshirt dresses everywhere, so I decided to show you a few ways you can wear them. I picked this gray and black one up at Target, but they are pretty much everywhere. Brandy Melville has really soft ones, but I didn't want to spend that much. I love simple dresses like this, because there are so many ways to amp them up!
The first is the simplest, but it instantly dresses them up. Add a statement necklace! I picked colors that went well and stood out. Both of my necklaces are from Rue 21. I love to buy jewelry there because it's cheap, but holds up well. I then just added my black sandals from Target. The dresses already look much better, and it looks like you put effort into your look.
For a completely different look of the dresses, add a shirt on top. This breaks up the dress and changes it enough to rewear it. For the gray dress, I added a green button up and tied the ends. The shirt is from American Eagle, and I love it. For the black dress, I did the same think but with a chambray shirt. This one is from Sears. I also cuffed the sleeves for that look. This is a great way to get more use out of a simple dress!
This is the same idea, but I chose different types of shirts. I took this oversized teeshirt from Forever 21 and tied the side for the gray dress. I love mixing several shades of gray. For the black dress, I added this cropped brown sweater that I found at Sears. I added a simple charm necklace (Forever 21) to the first look and a longer necklace (Aeropostale) to the second.
Here are my last two ideas. For the gray dress, I added a purple infinity scarf from Rue 21. I love the color combination of this. For the black dress, I added this brown crocheted vest also from Rue 21 (have you guessed my favorite stores yet?). I love how long this is and I love black mixed with brown. I added that long necklace again, and changed into brown flip flops from American Eagle.

How would you style these teeshirt dresses? What trend have you been loving? Let me know in the comments, and I'll see you next week!

Back To School!

I started back to school with three day week, so I thought I'd show you my outfits from the first "week" of school! I love the first week of school because for me, it's the time I get to be dressy and cute and really show everyone who I am.
This is my senior year, so I thought I'd also show you my Kindergarten picture. But as for what I wore this year, I put together this really cute and girly outfit. The shirt has really nice lace detailing in the front and is a soft pink. I found this on sale at Sears. I tucked that into a maroon skater skirt from Rue 21. To make my waist more defined, I added a brown studded belt, and finished it with my cream Converse.
Where I live, the weather can be pretty unpredictable. This day, it started off really cold but warmed up in the afternoon. For that reason, I chose to wear a maxi skirt. This floral maxi skirt is from PacSun, and I love it! I tucked this white tank top into it. What I like about this shirt, is that the top has a really neat crocheted detail. I bought it at TJ Maxx, but it's from Hollister. I also added this optional maroon cardigan (can you tell I love that color!). This sweater is really long and so soft. I found it at Charlotte Rouse and had to buy it! I added a handmade choker necklace and this long one from Aeropostale. I finished off the look with my black Target sandals!
Friday was also chilly, so I didn't want to show too much skin. I wore this off white skater dress that I got from Wet Seal. I love the length of it, because as a 5'6" all-leg girl, it can be hard to meet the finger tip length rule. Over the dress, I added a button up chambray shirt that I tied at the bottom. I also rolled up the sleeves so that I wasn't too hot. I finished this look with my favorite sandals from Peebles!

Those were my outfits I wore back to school. Let me know what you wore in the comments! Make sure you follow me on Instagram, and tell me that my blog sent you. I'll see you next week!
