10 Items, Many Outfits

I thought it would be a neat post to show you how to mix and match ten basic items you all probably have in your closet. Although you might now have the exact pieces, you will likely have similar articles. I used ten different pieces (shoes included) and created nine outfits. He key it this is layering, a great tool for cooler months!
Graphic tee, jeans, and sneakers. One of my go to casual days! This is such an easy outfit to make and to add on to.
I added this green button up over top for a different look. This is one of my favorite pieces I own!
Since it is a button up, you can always button it up! I've never actually worn it this way, never thought to, but now I think I'll be wearing it even more!
Another layer to add is a simple scarf. I thought black would go best with the shirt.
If you put that button up over a flannel and teeshirt dress, you can get yet another outfit with the shirt! I wore it with my black boots.
I love these layers together. It's such a unique look.
This dress could also be worn with a cardigan. I love maroon paired with gray.
This cardigan is the perfect length for this dress too.
Once again, you can add a simple scarf for a different effect. I also added a black skater skirt over the teeshirt dress, making it more of a shirt.
If you take off the cardigan, it is still a very put together look with just the scarf. I've the black being broken up by the gray.
Even without the scarf, it is still a great outfit! This is something you can do with a lot of dresses, add a skirt over it for a new look!

I hope you liked my ideas. I've seen a lot of magazines showing this sort of idea, and I thought it would be cool. Let me know if you want to see another version with different pieces!

Outfit of the Day

Layers are my best friend on cold days like today. As you can see by the picture we got a lot of snow today! (Yes I was freezing without my coat on!)
For this outfit, I layered a striped long sleeve shirt with this khaki green button up. I wanted to keep it a simple look, so I just wore it with basic skinny jeans.
This button up is one of my favorite articles of clothing. It is such an easy piece to through on over anything. I had debated buying this for a while but finally decided to get it, and I'm so glad I did!

I finished the outfit with my black combat boots. I love these shoes so much!

Striped Shirt - Old Navy
Button Up - American Eagle
Jeans - PacSun
Boots - JCPenny

Let me know what you wore today, and I'll talk to you next week!

2014 Favorite Outfits!

Everyone loves to look back at their favorites from the last month and especially year. I am no exception. I figured I might as well show you my favorites; to draw inspiration from, and in case you've never been on my blog before. All of these outfits have been featured here before, however some pictures might be different variations. I'm not going to write the details here, because I've already written them and most items probably aren't available anymore.

Let me know what some of your favorite trends and outfits were this year and something you want to try in 2015.
I loved layering, choker necklaces, and knee socks. I want to try (this is hard!) maybe distressed jeans? I don't know! Let me know what I should try too! Haha

Christmas Haul

For Christmas this year, I got quite a few clothing pieces, so I thought I'd show you how I styled them.
First I got this tank top from te Bethany Mota line at Aeropostale. I love it because it's long enough you can wear them with leggings like I did here. Since it is winter and freezing where I live, I added a maroon cardigan over top.
I finished it off with my black combat boots.
Cardigan- Charlotte Rouse
Leggings- American Eagle
Boots- JCPennys
Next, I got this unice top. It is a halter neckline with shoulder cut outs. I love the pattern of it too.
I paired it with my black jeans and the same combat boots. The shirt is long and flowy, but fits really well.
Shirt- TJ Maxx
Jeans- Rue 21
My cousin got me this shirt. It is my favorite color; maroon, but it has black speckled throughout. It's fairly cropped, but with high waisted jeans, it barely shows any skin.
I think it would look great with a black high wasted skirt in the summer too. I also got this necklace for Christmas. It is a gold bow and so cute.
Top- Forever 21
Necklace- Forever 21
Jeans- Rue 21
Boots- JCPennys
This white shirt is super pretty with its texture and the lace at the bottom, but it is sheer. You could add a plain white tank top under it, but I wanted to try something a little different. I added this patterned button up tank top under instead.
It is collared, so it pops out of the top. I wore it with my leggings and combat boots from before.
White shirt- Rue 21
Tank top- JCPennys
This Henley is the softest material ever! I style this shirt two different ways. This is the more dressed up version. I wore it with a pair of boyfriend jeans and black heals.
These heals are super comfortable. The jeans while their cuffed look extra fancy.
I love how with just the change of jeans and shoes this shirt transforms. I also wear them with my black jeans and combat boots.
Henley- Anerican Eagle
Boyfriend jeans- Amerixan Eagle
Heals- H&M
Last but CERTAINLY not least, is this sweater. I love this so much and I've wore it five time since Christmas! It is super warm and cozy!
I made this a really casual outfit by just wearing it with jeans and brown combat boots.
Sweater- Forever 21
Jeans- PacSun
Boots- Rue 21
Necklace- American Eagle

I love all of these clothes so much! Let me know what you got and what your favorite present was! Make sure to follow my Instagram and Tumblr, and I'll talk to you next week!
