Merry Christmas!

Today is Christmas! And I wish everyone a great one! Because of that, this post is going to be short on the fashion side, but then I'll also show you a few of my favorite decorations around my house!
But first, let me show you my outfit. These leggings are the focus of the look, and I've been wearing them like crazy (wearing them right now). I found them at Boscov's and they are fleeced lined, so perfect for the winter. Over that, I have a maroon skirt with a plain white tank top tucked in. To define my waist, I added a black belt with a gold clasp. Over this all, I added a light wash chambray shirt to add warmth as well as the unique texture and color it adds. To pull in that gold I added this simple necklace from American Eagle. I finished it with my black combat boots from JCPenny's. I got them last year for Christmas, and they are in perfect condition!
We celebrated Christmas with my extended family last Saturday, and this is what I wore to that. Again I wore the sweater leggings. This time, I added a black skater skirt. Tucked in, I have this really cute graphic tee shirt from the Bethany Mota line at Aeropostale. It has a winter hat with "Baby it's Cold Outside" written inside of it. Over that I added a red cashmere sweater. I'm with my sister in this picture, and it perfectly illustrates our relationship!

I hope you all have a great Christmas! Let me know what you'd like to see from me in the next year, and I'll talk to you then!

Winterize Your Dresses

There are a few ways to carry your summer clothes over to the winter months. I love wearing dresses, so I try to wear them year round. Unfortunately, where I love it's too cold to wear them like you would in the summer. So I've come up with four main ways to winterized your dresses!
1. Boots
2. Cardigan
3. Tights
4. Socks

I'm going to start by showing you how I'd wear it in the summer, and then how to add pieces to warm it up.
So this first one is my all time favorite dress, so of course I want to wear it all year! The dress is from Forever 21 and I just wear it with basic white studded sandles from Delia's. I love the simicity of this look.
To warm it up, I of course added a long maroon cardigan that matches the flowers perfectly. I also added maroon knee socks peeking out the top of my black riding boots.
This next dress is from Target and I love the mix of the patterns. I added a skinny black belt for waist definition and my black sandles also from Target.
I added this really old Aeropostale green corduroy jacket. It adds a lot of warmth! I wore those same black boots, but with white socks peeking out this time.
I wore this a lot in the summer because it is so bright and simple. This atzec printed blue skirt is from Target, and it even has pockets! I wore this with a white crochet crop top. I again wore my sandles from Delia's and added a yellow necklace from Rue 21.
This is probably the least warm outfit, but it's great for those fall days when it's just a little chilly (or if you live where it's not cold in the winter). I added a green cardigan for a nice color contrast. I added these navy/gray booties from Rue 21. They have really nice buckle detailing on the side. And I have white socks sticking out of the top. I love this trend for both look and warmth. It's a great way to add dimension to the look.
This dress is a beautiful off white circle dress with a lace panel on the back. I simply added those white sandles and the look is done.
This is a perfect dress for the winter because it has a longer skirt. (Just for reference I am 5'6 1/2"). I added tights under the dress with white socks and my brown combat boots from Rue 21. On top I added a brown cardigan. I love the brown with the off white color.

Let me know how you winterize your dresses and what the winter is like where you live! Here it's been snowing since the beginning of November.

Winter Must Haves

It is now Drcember and so it's time to start dressing for winter. Where I live it gets cold really fast and has felt like winter for the last month. I thought now would be the perfect time to complile a list of my favorite things for winter.

1. Knee socks and layers
Just because it's winter, doesn't mean you need to put all of your summer dresses away. I started with a black t shirt dress and added a Ralph Lauren plaid shirt and a green button up shirt from American Eagle on top. I love the effect this laying gives the outfit. I then added some textured black knee socks from Kohl's and black riding boots.

2. Winter Prints
This is what I will probably wear from Christmas this year. The tights are fleece lined from Boscov's. You could wear them on their own, but it don't really wear tights on their own, so I added a black circle skirt. I tucked this super cute Aeropostale graphic into that. The shirt says Baby it's cold outside and it's so cute and one of my favorite Christmas songs. I wore this with my black JCPennys combat boots. To add a bit of color, I also added my red cashmere sweater.

3. Leggings
Leggings are so comfortable and I love wearing them with longer shirts and tunics. These are my favorite from American Eagle. I wore that with a simple green tunic from Wet Seal. Again I wore my combat boots, this time with socks to break up the black. You can add a scarf like this one from Old Navy to add more detail.

4. Scarves
I love scarves because not only do they add warmth, but they're also super cute. This one I made, but you can find them practically everywhere. I wore it with my black leggings boots and socks like in the last look. I also wore an oversized chiffon top under a chambray shirt. I love the texture in this outfit. And the contrast in color.

5. *Bonus*
Static Guard! This is a life saver when it comes to winter time. I spray this on my scarf or sweater and my hair every morning. It really helps your hair from getting staticy from your outfit.

Let me know what your winter essentials are! I love winter it's so pretty especially with all of the Christmas decorations! I'll be back next week!

Outfit of the Day

Happy Thanksgiving! Since it is a holiday, I just wanted to do a simple little post. So this is the outfit that I'm wearing this year for Thangsgiving.
I have been loving maroon this year! It is such a great fall color.
So for the outfit I have a basic gray tee shirt dress from Target. Over this I have my favorite cardigan from Charlotte Rouse. To go with that maroon color, I added a pair of maroon knee socks that I got at Kohl's. My black boots I bought at Plato's Closet, so I don't know for sure where they're from. And to complete the look, I added an Aeropostale necklace.

Oh and that drink is something that I created and plan on making a video on that so go subscribe to my YouTube. Brittsco13

Enjoy your Thanksgiving! I'll see you next week! Make sure to follow my social media, I love posting my outfits.

Lazy Day Fashion

We all have those days when we just want to stay in our pajamas; sick days, lazy days, or just Mondays. So I've put together several outfits that are comfy but still cute. These looks are perfect because they look like you put time and effort into your look even if you just woke up!
The easiest is obviously a hoodie. But if you find a really cute hoodie, like this one from Forever 21, it can still be a cute outfit.
This is my other favorite hoodie, it's super soft inside and warm too! This one is from American Eagle and so cute! I paired both hoodies with PacSun jeans and my Target sneakers.
Scarves are the perfect way to add detail and color to an outfit. This scarf is from Rue 21 and one of my favorites. I added it to a striped shirt and the same jeans as before. I finished the look with my combat boots from JCPenny's.
Layering is a great texhnique when it comes to lazy days. By adding a detailed tank top to this jacket, you instantly dress up the outfit. The top is so cute with the lace detailing, and I got it at TJ Maxx. The jacket is my favorite from American Eagle. I love the color and the length of the arms (with thumb holes). I wore it with darker PacSun jeans and the same combat boots.
Another way of layering is with a graphic tee and a nice cardigan. This top is from Bethany Mota's line at Aeropostale and is so cute. It says "baby it's cold outside" inside of a hat! Over that I put a dark green cardigan from Forever 21. I wore that with my PacSun jeans and combat boots again (I really love both!).
Leggings are always a great option for comfort. These ones from American Eagle are great! They are really long and very thick. The have a neat zipper detailing at the bottom. I wore them with a teal top from Rue 21 and a yellow cardigan from WalMart. I finished it with my canvas sneakers and I was ready for the day!
This last one is probably my favorite. It reminds me of a horse rider. Anyway, I love pairing denim with khakis. These pants are from American Eagle and are so comfortable! Over them I have my knee socks from Kohl's along with my brown boots from Kmart.

I hoped you liked these looks, let me know if you try any out. Make sure to follow me on my social media, and I'll see you next week!

Fashion Tag

So I've been a bit sick for the past couple days, so I haven't got a chance to take the pictures for the blog post I had planned. Instead I thought it might be fun to do a fashion tag. This one has sixteen questions so let's jump in!

1. Three stores I love to shop at.
Forever 21
American Eagle
PacSun

2. Store I love to visit but usually don't buy from.
Free People. I love their clothes and that style, but they are so expensive!

3. Last accessory I bought.
A cute little necklace from a craft show. It's of two lover birds on a branch.

4. Something I own that I've never worn.
A couple of dresses/skirts that I've bought without trying on or changed my mind once I tried them at home. I bought a pink maxi skirt and haven't gotten around to styling it yet.

5. I (a) put a lot of thought into what I wear, (b) throw my clothes on quickly, or (c) just like to be comfortable.
It depends. I love being comfortable, but I like to look nice while being comfortable. If I had to choose one of them, I'd have to say throw my clothes on quickly.

6. My closet it mostly full of.
Stripes. Apparently I like those. Also I have a ton (two drawers) of tank tops.

7. If I could, I would wear _____ every day.
I love this outfit, it's so comfy. The leggings are from American Eagle. The baby doll dress is from Wet Seal, and the cardigan is from TJ Maxx. The necace is from Aeropostale. And I'd wear it with my gray canvas sneakers from Target.

8. Most comfortable article of clothing I own.
Either the outfit above, or my American Eagle hoodie.

9. What hat would you never ever wear?
I don't ever wear hats, but I wouldn't wear a ball cap.

10. What's your style?
It varies. I really like bohemian comfy clothes, but I also like skater chick.

11. Favorite tshirt.
It's from Aeropostale, and I think it's so cute!

12. Favorite dress.
I love this soft skater dress that I got at TJ Maxx.

13. Favorite sweater.
I love this maroon cardigan from Charlotte Rouse. It's so soft and my favorite color to wear.

14. Favorite shoes.
I love my DIY sneakers so much! They turned out so well and the shoe from Target is so comfy. My favorite boys are these riding boots from Kmart, but I love all of my shoes.

15. Favorite bag.
I don't often change my bag. I usually just use a small one I got in Puerto Rico or a larger cross body one from Aeropostale.

16. Favorite earrings.
Again, I don't wear earrings. I have my cartlidge pierced and that's the only earring I wear. I have my ears pierced, just don't ever wear any earrings.

Well I hope you enjoyed this! I'm gonna try really hard to put up the blog I've been planning next week. Sorry again! Let me know your answers in the comments!
