There are a few ways to carry your summer clothes over to the winter months. I love wearing dresses, so I try to wear them year round. Unfortunately, where I love it's too cold to wear them like you would in the summer. So I've come up with four main ways to winterized your dresses!
1. Boots
2. Cardigan
3. Tights
4. Socks
I'm going to start by showing you how I'd wear it in the summer, and then how to add pieces to warm it up.
So this first one is my all time favorite dress, so of course I want to wear it all year! The dress is from Forever 21 and I just wear it with basic white studded sandles from Delia's. I love the simicity of this look.
To warm it up, I of course added a long maroon cardigan that matches the flowers perfectly. I also added maroon knee socks peeking out the top of my black riding boots.
This next dress is from Target and I love the mix of the patterns. I added a skinny black belt for waist definition and my black sandles also from Target.
I added this really old Aeropostale green corduroy jacket. It adds a lot of warmth! I wore those same black boots, but with white socks peeking out this time.
I wore this a lot in the summer because it is so bright and simple. This atzec printed blue skirt is from Target, and it even has pockets! I wore this with a white crochet crop top. I again wore my sandles from Delia's and added a yellow necklace from Rue 21.
This is probably the least warm outfit, but it's great for those fall days when it's just a little chilly (or if you live where it's not cold in the winter). I added a green cardigan for a nice color contrast. I added these navy/gray booties from Rue 21. They have really nice buckle detailing on the side. And I have white socks sticking out of the top. I love this trend for both look and warmth. It's a great way to add dimension to the look.
This dress is a beautiful off white circle dress with a lace panel on the back. I simply added those white sandles and the look is done.
This is a perfect dress for the winter because it has a longer skirt. (Just for reference I am 5'6 1/2"). I added tights under the dress with white socks and my brown combat boots from Rue 21. On top I added a brown cardigan. I love the brown with the off white color. Let me know how you winterize your dresses and what the winter is like where you live! Here it's been snowing since the beginning of November.
XOXO<3
